How to Play 10BB–25BB in MTTs — Short-Stack GTO, ICM & Final Table Strategy

Playing with a stack between 10 and 25 big blinds in MTT is one of the most technically demanding spots in tournament poker. At these depths, push/fold math becomes critical, the value of position shifts dramatically, and ICM considerations override many standard GTO lines. Many players make the mistake of still playing a full postflop game at 20BB when the optimal strategy is almost entirely preflop-driven.

Knowing which hands to shove from which positions — and more importantly, which hands to fold even when they look strong — is what separates players who survive the bubble from those who bust before the money. This guide covers the complete strategic framework for the 10–25BB zone including ICM adjustments and stack-depth transitions.
